Today, I started my day knowing my cousin already passed away. *** It was supposed to be just another ordinary night inside their lolas house: Two brothers bonding over cups of wine, catchin’ up, sharing moments together. It was just perfect. Next thing they know, it wasn’t. It wasnt. *** Noises of glass bottles being violently broken ruined the peaceful night--somebody must have gotten out of control. And so the older brother, leaving his younger brother behind, went to examine whats going on outside through their third floors terrace. Outside, he saw a someone who was frantically shouting “Sinong nagbabasag diyan?” The next thing that followed was the sight of his younger brother walking outside to the nearby store to buy yosi. Never did he knew it would be his last walk. *** “Sinong nagbabasag?!?” Out of curiosity, the younger brother approached the man in civilian attire, who apparently was a police officer. “Ano ho bang problema?” Without saying anything, the police officer shot him. Naturally, he turned sideways with both arms extended as if to block the bullet. Unfortunately, he got hit slightly above his waist, piercing through his other side. And then he fell down. He was helpless. *** Just when the older brother thought he saw the worst... Well, there was more gun shots. *** Now tell me what is justice. Is this the service some people get from some Philippine police? *** Today, we are supposed to visit him in the hospital. Now, were off to his funeral.
