Today, I voted no for the good of the country I love. I voted to - TopicsExpress

Today, I voted no for the good of the country I love. I voted to preserve a historic union that has protected the beliefs and freedoms that a lot of us today take for granted. The freedom of speech, a right to privacy and even the right to hold a nationwide referendum on independence. None of these things would have been possible without a United Kingdom. It was Great Britain who stood together in the face of oppression and united further with our Allies to conquer the oppressive Nazi regime. Great Britain that stands up for countries and people unable to stand up for themselves. Great Britain that gave a home and opportunity to people like my grandfather, who fled his homeland in the face of REAL oppression, not this fake Westminster controls us bollocks. Scotland, England, Ulster, Wales, we stood TOGETHER. We defended freedom TOGETHER. Our forces died on the battlefields internationally TOGETHER. Fighting for a common goal, a good and noble cause. We were not segregated by nationality, race, religion, skin colour or anything else. We stood together. This country, as a united entity, fought for my grandfather, his people and his freedom. This country, as a united entity, then gave him and countless others like him a place to stay and the chance to build a life for himself. Scotland has been a vital part of the United Kingdom for hundreds of years and I believe we prosper as part of this union. I want us to remain part of this union. I believe we will be stronger as part of this union. United, we stand. Divided, we fall. #bettertogether
