Today I want to thank all service members of the armed forces. I could write for days about each and every service member I know and how they helped me in one way or another. But I would like to single just a few out. Wayne and Helene, my parents, your service in the US Marine Corps and the Australian Army taught me how to have pride in your country and heritage and you both instilled values in me which only your service and love could have taught me. Amadeus, you always supported me throughout my career and our multiple deployments. Ian, I dont even know where to start. Youre the best work husband and now long distance work husband a woman could ask for. Thank you for being a good friend. Douglas, thanks for always having my back and sticking up for me, even when commanders, first sergeants, etc. didnt want to listen to me solely because I was young and a woman. Jacque, Jessica, Beckles, Lisa thank you for showing me how a woman should act and be treated in the service. Its not easy to get respect but you ladies showed me the appropriate balance of letting things go, joking around, and taking thing seriously. And to everyone else I tagged, or may have forgotten to tag (sorry!) Thank you for being a good friend and support system. Everyone, honor veterans today by donating to a charity for service members. Although thank yous are nice, helping take care of my fellow vets in need would mean a lot more.
