Today I was in Germany and I delivered an open air lecture in Hanover on the rational foundations of Islam. It was a great experience. The German people are very receptive and at the end of the event three people embraced Islam. The German Defence League and other haters were present but they were made irrelevant by our calls for compassion, mercy and dialogue. There was one particular man who was carrying an anti Islamic banner. I approached him and started to discuss the correct context and understanding of the Quranic verses he was trying to belittle on his banner. After I explained the verses to him I asked him if he was aware of what I informed him before he printed his banner, he said no. Then I asked him to remove the banner but he refused even though he appreciated the correct context after I explained it to him. It goes to show that some people want to hate regardless of the truth, which exposes the fact that his views were based on blind hatred in the first place. May Allah purify all of our hearts. Brothers Adnan Rashid and John Fontain also delivered powerful and informative lectures on how Islam was a mercy for Europe and the importance of sharing the beautiful and compassionate message of Islam.
