Today I was leaving French Broad River Park after watching puppies frolicking in the park (okay, slightly irrelevant detail) and I passed a sign that said FRESH PRODUCE GONZALES. Pulled up, filled a bag with a bunch of gorgeous fruits and veggies, and asked how much. I figured it would be pretty expensive, but no - $5. I thought it must be some sort of scam, like maybe $5 AND my first-born child. But no, just 5 measly bucks for a treasure trove of food. I drove away before he could change his mind. This Gonzales guy is out there every day, all day, on the corner of State and Amboy. If you want some quality, local produce for super cheap, plus maybe you want to skip the whole fuss of going into a giant florescent-lit grocery store with produce from god-knows-where-but-definitely-not-down-the-road, definitely check this dude out. He was super nice. Nobody else was buying stuff. It was hot out. I felt bad. Give him more business!!! Hes probably got everything you need, produce-wise.
