Today I was privileged to take part and celebrate the brit mila of my baby cousin. He was born a week ago, his father just made it to the delivery room in time from the Aza border to which he went back to a day after the birth and only returned last night. His father, Udi Tenne is a mekafed in the army , his job is unique and also very sad. Udi is called to help identify and pick up the pieces of our boys who dont make it. Just this week, as he was dealing with some of the fallen he received a picture of his new born and today he tried to explain the emotions involved and the joy of welcoming a new life to this world, one that is so precious together with literally picking up the pieces of another. This to me exemplifies Israel and our will to go on and our strength to continue. Despite the devastation of the war around us, the lives that are lost so tragically, the lives that are disrupted and the destruction that has been caused here and in Aza, we are still here and we will remain here. This is our land and this is our people and we are strong and we will stay strong and continue to develop and be the incredible country that we are with such amazing people including Riki Novo-Tenne and Udi Tenne who have had to deal with so much this week. Mazal tov and welcome to our incredible country and world Yair Yakov Tenne. xxxx
