Today I was the guest speaker of Seminar on “Secretarial Audit - Preparedness & Challenges” organized by NIRC of ICSI. With the advent of Companies Act 2013 and consequent modification in rules and regulations, accurate and timely Compliance of all law became mandatory. As the legal and secretarial compliance is the responsibility of company secretary, we have a humongous task in hand. Company secretaries have to enhance their professional acumen with up-to-date knowledge and expertise in specific field. Corporates and industry will need firms where they can find one stop solutions for all their secretarial compliances along with legal and financial management. So we, the professionals of all the related fields such as Company Secretaries, Chartered Accountants, Corporate Lawyer etc. need to come together to conceptualize and create MEGA FIRMS. The mega firm with a large number of knowledgeable professionals and super infrastructure can serve the clients in an organized and efficient manner. As the new law emphasizes on compliance of the rules and provisions with accuracy and within a time-frame, we also need to be well-versed of Information Technology and the IT tools. With the help of IT, execution of work becomes easy and with lesser manual involvement and work. Thus professionals will get time for knowledge enhancement as well as conceptual, planning and development activities. When Opportunity does not knock your door, build the door… But now opportunities have knocked your door, but still, you have to get off from your seat and open the door…
