Today I would like to say congratulations to a wonderful friend of mine who recently had a precious baby boy. She is one of our sons doctors who has been with us from the very beginning though out this journey. During some very difficult moments when faced with challenging choices, I would ask her what if it were your son? What would you do? Each time she would quickly qualify that she was not a mother so she had no idea what we were going through or the difficulty in our decisions or having any credibility as a parent. I think that speaks volumes to her character in a profession that seldom lends any credence to the opinions of mothers. God thought we moms could handle the job so he gave it to us - to love and nurture these children with an innate sense that cannot be duplicated. She never once took that for granted in our discussions. Now she is a mom, too. I have no doubt that Dr. Lagmay will be one of the very best in her new job as mother to her little baby boy! We send her lots of love and many blessings in her new adventure!
