Today, Im helping Garagoli Water Resources Users Association aka GAWRUA set up a functional office. The 1071 members association lacks an office and volunteer workers. I will devote 8 hours a week to capacity build the group and help them have a firmed presence in conserving the Garagoli river which is the main tributary of Yala River. So far, we have planted 1,400 seedling of bamboo along the river that springs out from Kobujoi Forest and pours into the Yala 43 kilometers down stream. The Garagoli supplies piped water from the Kaimosi Water Works to homes in Hamisi and Sabatia Constituencies and has the potential to supply water to all homesteads in Vihiga County. The white settlers used to generate 1mw of power from this river and we are alive to the fact that we have to protect the river considering its massive economic potential. Thank you Water Resource Management Authority for the support and the Kaimosi Friends Theological College for offering the Association an office pro-bono.
