Today I’m feeling really sad that I’m not in my home town. Probably this going to be first time (when I grow up and understand that my country needed to fight for freedom) when I miss honour ceremony dedicated for Lithuanian independence from Soviet Union. In 1991.1.13, unarmed fights in our country capital city Vilnius, where was injured hundreds of people and 14 of independence fighters died because of Soviet Union armed forces actions. People were crushed by tanks and killed by red army soldiers using ak-74 and ak-47. Lithuanian people were holding each other, making live wall from human bodies and protecting most important buildings by themselves. They were singing 24 hours per day ethnic songs, sharing food and other stuff with other people. My mom also attended in these fights. I’m feeling proud to be your son. I’m feeling proud of my country people, what they have done. I’m feeling proud by my self – that I’m from Lithuania. I fell thankful for people who sacrificed they own lives for better live to future generations, because of them I am a free person, I have word freedom, I have my free will, I can travel all around world and do whatever I want. I’m proud to be Lithuanian.
