Today, January 12th, marks the 5th anniversary of one of the worst earthquakes in history. Today is the anniversary of children becoming orphans in an instant. Today is the day that a country already poverty stricken became debilitated. Today is a painful reminder of how ugly adoption starts. A reminder of how painful it is. Not the pain I feel of longing for our 3 kid to come home. A pain far greater. Today I am reminded of a God who takes awful things and makes them good again trading beauty for ashes. I attached a video off of YouTube that tells the story of one familys journey through their adoption that happened so quickly because of one of the worst days in Haitian history. For those of you whom arent familiar with adoption: Families become parents to an orphan in Haiti and have to watch that child grow up until all the legal stuff happens and they get to bring them home.
