Today President Obama will be in the Bay Area to do two fundraisers..People will be out in force to protest him, not only around the issues of deportations and the massacres in Gaza but also around protecting Net Neutrality which is what he promised to do when he ran for office.. Be sure to catch those protests and watch and listen very carefully as top how the corporate media frames the issue of Net Neutrality.. They keep saying its about speed which implies you wanna be able to surf the web quicker.. Thats false.. Net Neutrality protection is about making sure a Internet Service provider whether its Comcast, AT&T, Verizon or a company down the street IS NOT allowed to slow down or make content you create difficult for others to access..They will have the ability to slow down your content for whatever reason they deem appropriate..Its not just about your ability to pay or not pay if you could in fact afford to.. Be clear about that.. Millions of people are on board fighting to protect Net Neutrality. The largest group of people siding with the telecoms and working hard to confuse the issue and get rid of NN are members of the Congressional Black Caucus, The NAACP and other traditional Civil Rights orgs who have been brought off, sold out folks and are banking on the telecoms to reward them personally by making sure their content is accessible thus making them the only game in town.. Up to now the local media in spite having tech reporters have not said a word about Net Neutrality until todays scheduled protest.. No doubt they will trot out a couple of these sell out Negro law makers who will use confusing rhetoric provided by the telecoms about discrimination and jobs .. Dont be fooled..
