Today Sunday August 24th, is national flag day. The day will be observe as a national holiday, through out the republic of Liberia. In observance of the day, all Liberians both at home and abroad should be thankful to God the father, for our existence as a people and nation. Furthermore, we should also be thankful to the seven African American ladies who designed our national flag, for the love of liberty. Our national flag is the symbol of national integration, pride, and identity. Our national flag is also the symbol of our nation. Therefore, Liberia is our primary interest and concern. In our effort to fight the deadly disease called Ebola, we must unite and come together as one people, and put aside our political differences and work along with our national government. Accordingly, We cant fight Ebola in the mist of disintegration, and hatred. Our national focus as a people, is to kick Ebola out of Liberia, instead of calling for the resignation of president Ellen Johnson Sirleaf. However, for those who calling for the President resignation, it is not in the best interest of national peace, stability, and integration. Liberia our beloved country, is a respectable nation, and she has contributed to global peace and stability. Liberia has contributed immensely during the league of nations, and a founding member of the United Nations, Liberia is also a signatory to the United Nations, and participated in the creation of other international organizations. Liberia was also the home for members of the African National Congress the (ANC) during their struggle against apartheid in South Africa, and other nationalities of the world. The first president of the United Nations general assembly, Mrs. Angie Brooks Randolph, was a Liberian. In our test of time, the rebuilding process of our nation, can only be effective, when we are totally involve. The era of Americo Liberians and native, is over. We are now in a new age or era, where we consider ourselves as Liberians. We are one people, from one destiny. Finally, my fellow Liberians, as we celebrate our national flag day, the name and interest of Liberia, should be supra. Let us rally around our national leaders, and fight the deadly Ebola. If Liberia the sweet land of liberty will rise again, we as a people in the true spirit of nationalism should work together in the building of the new Liberia. May God bless Liberia, and happy flag day to you all my fellow Liberians.
