Today, The Straits Times ran an article The Lure of Hong Kong. It speaks of Singaporeans finding better opportunities in HK. Singapore and HK share similar traits as former British colonies, Chinese majority and similar stages of development. Here are some quotes from the article: a pulsating city that accelerates at the thrilling heartbeat of China an environment of intellectual freedom to think as boldly as you wish so long as you get the job done, no one dictates how it is done, or if it is permitted. You come with an idea, and you check, is it legal? Whereas in Singapore, the first question is, is it legal? Though a small city like Singapore, Hong Kong seems more embracing of people with a past. Hong Kongers are more focused on what one can offer then. I personally like HK for the speed and vibe of the working culture. There is so much more things happening there.
