Today... Today was a great day. I went to OSU to stand between a soldiers funeral an Westboro Baptist protesters. We stood there about 5 hours, to ensure a peaceful event for friends and families. Thousands of people showed up with us. It was truly an awesome day. Yes, it inspired a true awe into me. I love my fellow veterans and northwesterners. I will be thinking about today for a long time. I plan on writing up my deeper thoughts on it later. Right now, I am glad to be home. The hugs from my children upon arrival made me thankful. Another family no longer gets to enjoy those affectionate exchanges. I do. I really do love my life. I am pained for Spc Pattersons friends and families. I do not know you, but I thank you, Cody.
