Today, Todd was successful in having a domestic abuse restraining order dismissed agains one of his clients on a de novo appeal. The client had gone to the initial hearing on his own and was not allowed to present his evidence, as it was nearly all hearsay. Thus, a Domestic abuse restraining order was issued. Client then came to Todd, who, after a 4 1/2 hour trial, convinced the judge that the woman requesting the RO was not being truthful. The judge found Todds client to be credible, and the petitioner to not be credible. Accordingly, the RO was dismissed. Todds client is an employee of the Department of Corrections and he may have lost his job had Todd not been successful.
