Today, Tuesday, March 25, 2014 starting at 5pm, is the launching of ANIMA BRASIL - The Soul of Brazil in Harlem. This unique and innovative weekly event is FREE and will be held at Hudson River Cafe, located at 697 W 133RD and 12th Ave. It will feature live music that stem from the roots of Afro-Brazilian religion to the most sweet, danceable and groovy samba jazz; Samba dance class and performance by baiana and dance teacher Jania Santana Cascais; New York Samba School.org; DJs Alex Carioca, Jim Bulgatz and Elmano, spinning from Forro, to Kuduro, from Kizomba to World Music; The Brazilian National Dish (Feijoada); Brazils famous appetizers (pao de queijo, coxinha de galinha, risoles de camarao, pasteis de queijo); Brazilian drinks (all caipirinha flavors - buy two pay 1 caipirinha, from 5pm-7pm); Maculele dance by Mestre Zumbis grupo Senzala; last but not least, Ernani Silvas painting exhibition; Three TV stations confirmed to cover the event from 5-7 pm.
