Today Veterans Day, I reflect back to my over 26 years of service with great admiration. Back when I graduate from high school I had a scholarship to a junior college. But I dread passed it up and joined the military following the footsteps of my father, uncles, and older brother. I did not join or I like to say, I volunteered for the educational benefits, or the money. I volunteered because I wanted to serve my country! I was prepared to give my life to my country, period. On I side note I extend a warm thank you to my wife of 43 years. She was my co-pilot enduring the same assignments. The same hardships. The same adventures, and yes while I was sent on remote assignments she held the family together. If there is a medal for dedicated service she and all other spouse deserve it!
