Today, a coworker asked me why I ride and run, when I know that I will wake up the next day with sore muscles, poison ivy, and bug bites. (Of course she asks me this while I am nursing my gimpy leg) There are SO many reason why I run/ride...to feel the burn in my lungs, to push myself mentally and physcally, to be a part of a team, to feel free, to sweat, to feel like I wanna puke, and to get dirty. I am pushing 40 years old and I choose to run/bike in races that sometimes are 10 hours long...in hopes of winning a Tshirt or a place on the podium. I have surrounded myself with like minded individuals who teach and encourage me. This past year has been one of the best years of my life. Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride! ~ Hunter S Thompson
