Today a man was recognized for something he didn’t expect recognition for. He was saluted, applauded and praised. For doing what he loved he was loved back. Today and every day I have the honor of being a part of his life, and today I stood proudly recognizing him for his worth. His status is Elite, his worth is incredible, and he is passionate yet modest. These are titles and statements associated with material worth, yet today he receives them because of self worth. I do not need to ask you “do you know who he is?” because you know who he is. He is my father and in recognition of his award for volunteering in the community, the award presented to him today was most certainly deserved. I am proud of him and I aspire to be like him.
