Today at 12:30, my 15 year old lab, Chelsea, died while laying at my feet. She had been a little short of breath over the past few days. She has been a great dog and was loved by patients, young and old, in my office in Morehead City. She lived to eat, ride in cars, and swim. Only thing I never was able to make her understand was that the RETRIEVER part of her breed name implied that if something was thrown, she should run after it and bring it back. For a long time, she went with me to my office and played with kids and grownup patients as well, making them feel better and relieving stress. We buried her on my wife Sues grandmothers farm under a tree overlooking a stream she enjoyed swimming in. She dug up my in-laws pansies whenever she went there, so we planted pansies on her grave. She was a good and loyal dog, I certainly will miss her. These pictures were of her hard at work at the office.
