Today, even more so if its a hard day, and especially if its a hard day because of something youve done, listen up! God loves you. God loves you right now, this moment. God loves you just the way you are. If you think God will love you more if you sin less, youre wrong. If you think God will love you more if only your faith were stronger, youre wrong. If you think God will love you more when you do more things right and fewer things wrong, live life with greater passion and less inattention, love others more and neglect them less--youre wrong. If youre thinking of things you should be doing so God will love you more or think youre doing something that is causing Him to love you less--stop! Dont confuse Gods love with the love of people or even with your own. Those kinds of love of increase with performance and decrease with mistakes. The Devils formula for self-worth, for love, is your performance plus the opinion of others. The equation never balances. You always lose. Gods formula for love? I love you. Period.
