Today, few hours after my older son arrived from the States, he already met with about 80 youth members from a parish community in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga and gave a talk about commitment. Worn out and fatigued from the grueling 16-hour international flight, upon his arrival, he worked hard and polished his talk in the wee hours of the morning. Skyler is only 15. When all of his fellow peers are more likely to want to hibernate in a hole and play games, he chose to empower the youth after a long haul flight. He believes that the Philippines, his heritage nation, is worth spending time and effort on. I could not be more proud. Thank you to the youth members of the parish of Santo Cristo del Pardon of Villa Julita in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga, Philippines under the guidance of our very good friend Reverend Father Among Jonathan Bartolome for taking the time to listen to Sky and hear his thoughts and ideas and allow his young soul to empower you. Father Jon has been very gracious and accommodating and generously offered his parish and made us feel at home. We hope that in Gods goodness, one day, we could return the favor in America. I would like to believe that both our sons see what we do to empower many people. Not because we are any better and they are less or that we are less and others are better but because we are all limited in all our ways and we need each other to complete our meaning and mission in life. No one on earth is so poor that they cant share and no one is so rich that they cant need. And in our family, we aim to help ourselves in empowering.
