Today firefighters report that the wild fire around Mount Charlston is still out of control and 15,000 thousand acres are now charred. That represents 5% of the forest around the mountain. The spokesperson did at least report that they were able to break even today on that fire. Not losing but not gaining ground and it is 15% contained near Trout canyon. Smoke has become overwhelming for some and residents living in the rainbow subdivision are still being asked to evacuate as their neighborhood is closest to the blaze. Centennial high school is now serving as a firefighter command post. This is just crazy!
