Today had been scheduled for a jury trial in a juvenile delinquency matter where I am representing a defendant. This matter has resolved itself with a plea agreement which was favorable to my client. So today instead of a jury trial, Judge Economy accepted a guilty plea and the matter has been set for disposition. The juvenile justice system is a very important part of state government and the legal process. Our young people are more and more becoming involved in activities which threaten their very futures and the safety of our community as well as our children. I was happy that I represented a client who is acknowledging the problems with his behavior and that my client is already beginning to receive therapy and treatment which will hopefully help him to lead a much better life and be a contributing member of our community in the future.
