Today has been a LONG day! Its also been an emotionally draining day. I am FINALLY home! After a long week away from my home, pets, kiddos and my job, Im finally home!!! Estate sale is done and over! Lots of tears cried this week! Bittersweet moment, a VCR tape was found of my uncles wedding and grandmas 70th birthday. Those who have gone before us...Grandad, Mack, my daddy, my husband, my unc and grandma, all in the video. It was like a confirmation. It was their good bye to us, before we shut the door to grandmas house, the end of a chapter. Seeing those faces, alive, happy, smiling, was so bittersweet. I miss them all!! Seeing my daddys face, full screen on the TV, was almost more than I could handle. Seeing grandma, so happy, smiling, being her sweet and classy self, was just how i remember her. Seeing my children, so little, brought back such sweet memories. Seeing my husband made me miss him so much. Seeing Mack, my first brother/cousin, was so great! Seeing grandad and unc just how I remember them. Was a wonderful video. All the emotions I feel, I will sort through them, come to terms with them, and finally ACCEPT them, at some point. I do know one thing, I am so glad that we chose not to hire an estate company. I could never forgive myself for not going through gmas things myself. So many memories! Lots of laughs, tears, regrets, resentments, and finally, CLOSURE! I got to go through my daddys things as well! I did learn two things. Get rid of the things that mean NOTHING, and keep the things that will mean EVERYTHING to those you leave behind!
