Today has been an eye opener on my tour of BAIN and HAST agricultural equipment companies.Mechanisation is critical in boosting agricultural production and its efficient use normally increase yields and improves on quality.These two companies level of preparedness is very high ,going into the next season of farming.The stock range of items is exciting and technological advancement a marvel.However the greatest challenge to these companies is the fact that most farmers can not afford machinery and loarn terms are not available to small holder farmers.The mechanisation programme of the past govenor of the reserve bank created a dependency syndrome and a higher rate of poor loan servicing from farmers.However the industry faced near collapse then and still is,recovering from the catastrophic period.Companies such a Stewart And Lloyds are dead and burried after being grabbed by politicians namely Leo Mugabe.The premises of the company are a shell of the past and a shebeen,butchery,and takeway has replaced industry.I took encouragement from the inventions and modifications of equipment at HAST and if given more capital injection the company will do wonders for the lower and middle farmers in Zim.Tomorrow I will visit fertilizer companies and have an appreciation of the operations of the backbone of productivity and the biggest pusher of the countrys GDP.Zanu Pf has systematically destroyed our agriculture,let us restore our country to its bread basket status and grow food for the nation. Honesty ,trust,integrit y ,efficiency,and faithfullness shoulde be the hallmark of our agriculture!!!! Chasvika Chimurenga Siyalungisaaaa
