Today is Autism Awareness Day, and on this day I want to give - TopicsExpress

Today is Autism Awareness Day, and on this day I want to give thanks for the gift of my daughter, Elisabeth. Some of you may know...others may not know...that Elisabeth was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in December of 2012 at the age of 17 months. Since then, the burning question in my mind has been, Why??? For more than a year I have immersed myself in literature and research, hoping to find the answer. My ongoing research keeps pointing back to the environmental toxins that I have been exposed to throughout my life, what she was exposed to in utero, and what she was exposed to in the first year of her life. Today, Dr. Mercola has affirmed in an article what I have known for some time now (link to the article below). I re-post links to articles here on Facebook pretty much daily about toxins present in the environment, and how they are causing damage to all of us, with the hope that people might read them and become more aware of what they are exposing themselves to, so they dont have to experience the emotional trauma and heartache of an autism diagnosis. I love my baby and wouldnt change her for the world, but there is not one day that goes by that I dont wish I knew what I know now well before we brought her into this world. 1 in 68 have Autism, and I no longer ask myself, Why??? Because I now know the answer.
