Today is Good Friday and the word is sacrifice. Obviously, I am talking about the sacrifice of Christ, who willingly gave his life for you and me. What is so amazing to me is that God chose to become flesh like us and through this He taught us and modeled for us how our life should be lived. And then, this God who literally put upon himself the robe of humanity willingly gave up his life for us. There never has been or will be a greater test of love than when Christ voluntarily gave His life for us. Why did He do this? He said, “I have come that you might have life and have it more abundantly.” It was Christ’s sacrificial death that gave each one of us the hope of life. This is why today is called Good Friday. - John C. Maxwell
