Today is Memorial Day. And Day 31 of Chris deployment. To be honest, the days have gone by pretty fast. We miss him every day, but were lucky that technology makes it possible to FaceTime on a regular basis. Ironically, the second flight of Chris deployment was an Angel flight. He was re-routed from his original flight plan to go pick up a soldier that was KIA and take him to a major airport in the region to be flown home on another military plane. Chris said this time, it was one of the largest turnouts for a ramp ceremony hes ever seen. (And spending 10 years flying all over the Middle East for OIF and OEF, hes had his share of Angel flights). I read a quote yesterday and Ill share it here: Remember the fallen; embrace the living. So while Im waiting for our baby to wake up from his nap, Im remembering all those whove died in service to our country...but Im also thinking about people like my husband who are continuing to put themselves on the line so we dont have to. I appreciate all of you. And here is a video thats been circulating for while...it makes me cry everytime I watch it. For all my herk friends out there...
