Today is VP Day, 69 years since PM Ben Chifley declared: The War is over. It was a moving experience to lay a wreath at the VP Day Ceremony at Cabra-Vale Park in Sydneys West and to recount the stories told by my parents about the jubilation felt on this day in 1945 following the Allied Victory in the Pacific. We remember all those brave men and women who served our country in World War II, the deadliest conflict of the 20th century. Lest we forget.
