Today is World Rabies Day: Although rabies is 100% preventable, approximately one person dies every ten minutes from the disease bringing the total to an estimated 55,000 rabies deaths worldwide each year. Rabies is ALWAYS fatal...there is no treatment or cure. The vaccine is safe and effective. Protect your pets, and your people by vaccinating all companion animals against Rabies Virus. In August 2014 alone: 3 Rabies Positive BATS and 1 CAT were identified in the state of Missouri....one of the bats was found in St. Louis County. Bats can be of great concern to even indoor only pets...screen doors and windows offer exposure and unvaccinated indoor pets then can spread it to the family. Think about your pets preventative health plan and call you veterinarian.
