Today is a day I will never forget, for two reasons. #1. 13 years ago I was awaking while in the Coast Guard in Florida from a phone call from my mom to turn on the tv. I watched on tv as the towers that I used to be able to see from my parents front deck fell to the ground. We will never forget that day, never forget those who lost their lives. #2. 11 years ago was my first date with my wife. Every year we go to the restaurant we had our first date and then we go to a 9/11 memorial that overlooks the city, we look at the lights that shine up into the sky that shows where the towers once stood and we pay our respect to those that died that day. Now we just do it with a little company. 11 years have gone by, 8 years of marriage, two amazing boys and our own house. Yes it is a bitter/ sweat day ever year.
