Today is a hard day for me. Today marks the 10 year anniversary, that one of my very best friends on this earth passed away. 10 years ago today, Dave gave his life in Fallujah Iraq, helping to liberate and rescue the residents there from the terrorists. His best friend in his battalion had gotten trapped, and Dave took point to go rescue his best friend, and brother in arms. 10 years ago today was Thanksgiving Day. And on Thanksgiving, Daves parents got The Visit that all military parents, and families never want to receive. Dave had just turned 25 in October, and had celebrated his 25th birthday in Iraq with his brothers. So while we all sit around the tables tomorrow with our families, and our friends, please take the time to pray and think about the men and women that are over seas and away from their families and friends, protecting us from the tyrants and terrorists that really ARE out there. They are very real. So hug your marine, your seaman, your airman, or your soldier. Whichever branch theyre in, HUG them. Tell them you love them. Let them know what they mean to you. I miss our emails back and forth, I miss our text and phone conversations. I miss his hugs. I miss how he could turn any negative into a positive, and no matter how bad your day was, he could ALWAYS make it better. Even when he wasnt having the best of days, he always did what he could to make mine better. And sometimes, he could express and convey more with a hug, than anyone could with words. And he always knew when a hug was all that was needed. Dave has a daughter that will never get to meet her father, and get to know the wonderful man, and person that he was. And that is such a loss. Dave, I love you, and think of you every day, and miss you every day. Here are some pix of Dave through the military in Iraq, and one of him and his daughter. In one pic, Dave had written all of the names of his brothers that had gotten killed on his helmet to remember everyone that had passed away. He had to cover it up later so the enemy couldnt see, but he wanted to show his support for his fallen brothers. Dave you may be gone, but you are NEVER forgotten. I love and miss you.
