Today is a rough day, another first of many… Today my dad would be celebrating supposedly his 78th birthday. Instead, just a sad month since his unexpected death, we will be “celebrating” without him. Our family has planned to spend some time together today, remembering my papa, having dinner at home. We’ll likely eat macaroni my mom usually makes and cry about everything. It’s amazing how fast these days have gone, yet how unreal it still seems at times. And even though it’s been a month the sadness is still as unbearable at times as it was that very first day. These next few days will be very rough, as we will be experiencing our first holidays without him, without his famous sweet laughs. Happy Birthday Papa, and happy first birthday in heaven! No birthday could be better than a birthday in heaven, and I can only imagine just how amazing it must be. I miss you more than words can express, and can’t wait until we see each other again someday. I love you.
