Today is my Dads birthday ,,,, he would be 86 years old. We had a celebration dinner at my house when he turned 75. I asked him how it felt to be 75 ... ironically I had been with many friends who had lost their Dad at a much younger age that whole weekend. I knew I was lucky to still have my Dad. He said, Shar ... in the blink of an eye. I can not believe I am 75! Life moves so quickly!!! And he is so right. I miss talking to him. I miss how he would never get into a car without asking, How do you like this car? because he LOVED cars. I miss how he truly loved each one of his grandchildren and loved to talk to them. He was so proud of all their accomplishments! I asked my Dad, a very proud 1946 graduate of LaSalle, how he felt about Shaun going to the Prep. Im only incredibly proud of him!! (He did refuse to wear a Prep sweatshirt!!) He always had a sense of humor, all the way up to the end of his life. He loved life and I am so lucky to be his daughter and to learn so much from him. Many, many times - I didnt listen to a damn thing he said - but I sure listen now and remember! My Dad was a great father but the most important thing I remember was how deeply in love he was with my Mom! Happy Birthday Dad!
