Today is my brother Phils 14 yartzeit. I miss him dearly We shared a room for fifteen years. He taught me much about life and everything about music. We discussed life, religion and everything that came along with it. I remember him getting beat up in the projects for simply wearing a yarmulka in the 60s. Also remember the boys father forcing him to apologize to Phil. Boy showed up with tears in his eyes as his father let him have it (in those days) He paved the way for many of us to wear our yarmulkas and be proud of what we are. He was huge but very much of a teddy bear and a sense of humor surpassed by none. He worked very hard at everything he did, real old school demeanor worth ethic and was excellent at it. He touched many as a head hunter got many of us jobs. Please those of you out there comment if he placed you or even discussed placing you as I know he touched base with so many of you out there. Many of our best memories were the days we spent in the mountains at Lakewood Bungalow Colony. He touched many and remained friends forever. As his baby brother I was very well protected from anyone or thing that even thought about approaching me. But he did tease me on his own scale. We were very different but nevertheless extremely close, spoke daily mon - fri never missed a day. I recall when our mom passed away and he purchased a new cell phone awhile later and could not help but put moms number into new phone. I too felt the same when he passed. He is very much here as my friends and sons as well as myself use many of his lines. I regret my 5 town friends never meeting him as his expertise on sports and sense of humor would have been deeply appreciated. May his neshama have an aliyah and yeshia.
