Today is the 140th anniversary of the birth of Robert Frost, perhaps Americas most beloved and recognized poet. Perhaps you recognize memorably meaningful lines like: But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep. Or: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I… I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference. Frost is my favorite American poet, especially for his classics Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening and The Road Not Taken, two poems that have helped change my thinking and helpfully altered my course in life. Yes, great poetry is the greatest of literary art, words so arranged that the words can even rearrange a human being, mind, soul and body. One of my my richest possessions in life is to own great literary art like a few of Frosts beautiful poems. I own them by way of memorization and regular meditation thereon. I recommend owning classic, life enhancing, life changing, poems like Mr Frosts by way of memorization and meditation.
