Today is the 70th anniversary of the first major deportation from Hungary following the German occupation of the country in March 1944. There were two transports with over 3,000 Jews each from the North-Eastern region on May 14, 1944, one from Munkács (today Mukacheve in Ukraine) and Nyíregyháza. Heute ist der 70.
