Today is the day. On October 21 AGS members will be attending and walking together in the Domest Violence Awareness walk and vigil put on by Domestic Violence Solutions of Santa Barbara County. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and we want to help bring awareness to this problem in our community and nationwide by walking in the event. The walk begins at City Hall in Santa Maria (110 E. Cook St) at 6pm and ends at Ethel Pope Auditorium at Santa Maria High School (901 S. Broadway) at approximately 8:30pm. Presentations will be given on the issue and victims of domestic violence will be remembered as well. Norris Beebe will be chairing this event and should be contacted to let him know you will be attending as there needs to be at least 6 members present in order for each member to earn 1 pt per hour otherwise members will earn 1 pt for every 3 hours attended. He will also be deciding exactly where at City Hall members will meet as there is usually a very large crowd that attends and he will have the sign in sheet so it is important you are in contact with him. Members should wear either AHC T-shirts, AGS Honor Society T-shirts, or shirts of similar color to those to show unity amongst the group. Also it is advised that you park your cars at the Santa Maria Inn and then walk over to City Hall so that you are not walking back to City Hall in the dark.
