Today is the day to clean out shoes from my closet. There are probably 20 pairs in their, about 18 of which I haven’t worn in years (possibly decades) and can no longer wear. Some of them are brand new and unwearable, since the onset of my crazy feet problems. We’ll send them to Goodwill. We also have a big pile of Virgil’s clothes to ship off to Goodwill, including a bunch of jeans. He’s lost about 20 pounds in the last several months—on purpose. He has really trimmed down, and almost nothing he owned still fit him. He’s dropped several sizes. This is the first time in my life that I have had a pile of discarded blue jeans. I’ve always seen the sewing/crafting projects that people make using old jeans and denim but never had enough of it. Now I’m wondering. Should the old jeans go, or should they take up residence with the (sigh) hundreds of yards of fabric that awaits me in my sewing room?
