Today is the feast of St. Crispin and his brother, St. Crispian, both third century martyrs. This feast is perhaps best known for something else that happened on it--the Battle of Agincourt, in which outnumbered English forces led by King Henry V defeated a French army 599 years ago today. William Shakespeare later immortalized this great victory in the St. Crispins Day Speech in his play Henry V:
