But autism is no joke ,not only for the families living with it, but for the future generations who will carry the emotional and financial burden of a generation of children who most will likely require lifelong care. Even worse today we honor those children with autism who were never given a chance. 1 in 68 children have autism. Children with autism wander 4x more then their typical peers. Drowning accounts for 91% of deaths in children with autism. 1/3rd of children with autism Who wander cant communicate their name. 62% of families of children with autism who wander report inability to enjoy community outings in fear of elopement.
