Today lets have a Litchi fest, Steve said, as he marched out the back door. With our huge litchi tree ladden with ripe litchis it was time to gather the harvest, just enough for ourselves and leaving the rest for our free range wild troop of monkeys that move through our property daily, and, over a period of 3 days finish off every last one of the ripe litchis. So, ladder up and bucket in hand we began picking each litchi off the tree by hand, it became obvious we were being watched closely by our monkeys in our rehab cages in the garden, murmuring quietly they obviously though this was their feast. As we climbed down bucket in hand they all let out screams of delight...........Yes, you quessed it, we emptied the entire bucket into their cages, ensuring each one had a few. And so, the monkeys had a litchi feast and we loved it. It felt way better than our litchi feast would taste. And, well do it again tomorrow.....
