Today marks the 5th year since my family was changed forever- with the loss of my mothers friend and husband, my sister and brothers and my father- to the evil that is Cancer. I am constantly reminded of how my family has changed, whether it is in the conversations we have, or plans to get together, things are never the way they were. Some things have changed for the better, while other things have not. I was still young to the way the world works, but over time I have faced the challenges set out before me with everything that my mother and father taught me. I wrote a poem when my father passed away, and am going to post it here, so those who were not able to read it then, may read it now. Torment and Trials by Theresa Potts Through torment and trials; through thick and thin, I will return to the places Ive been. Though my path has been split, and the choice has been made, my faith on this journey will never fade. My journey began long ago, and my life changed every way, and I face new challenges every day. Reality can be so hard to grasp, sometimes I laugh or cry, and then stop to ask God why. But through thick and thin, I will return to the places Ive been.
