Today more than ever before more people are showing concern for the environment within their bodies.This has come with the realisation that it’s what we consume more than anything else that definitely contaminate us.Today indigenous livestock and crop breeds have become increasingly expensive compared to hybrids because people consider the former more safe. They believe that the type of food one eats and where it comes from accounts for much of their ailments. If it’s from the soil, how contaminated is the soil from which it is grown? If the food is from water, how contaminated is the water from which it is obtained? What about the air we breathe?Little wonder the talk about conservation farming is now the in-thing. Rural settlements like Mwense are expected to have clean air because there re no pollutant industries. The people of Mwense have therefore got a lot of opportunity to make the best out of their environment. They have a higher chance for sustainable development and they can do this through effective environmental strategies. What measures do you think authorities should put in place to protect the virgin lands and forests of Mwense from further degradation?
