Today my 64 year old grandmother told me that for the 2nd time this week she was harassed in public. (Mind you, she wears the hijab (Muslim head scarf)). As shes about to start crying she tells me she fears to walk outside and now refuses to go shopping. Today my grandmother told me a lady at Macys accidentally hit her in the face with a purse, and instead of apologizing the woman gave my grandmother a dirty look and said Go back to where u came from! The insanity!!! Are people that ignorant!? (Smh) Then the other day while on line at A&P my grandmother said the cashier was talking about her right in front of her face as if she didnt understand English, so my grandmother replied Actually, I have been in this country for 40 years. I speak perfect English. Does my grandmother or any Muslim woman deserve this? May God help us all.
