Today...my heart is heavy. Started last night with the St Louis situation and this evening hearing such a beautiful spirit left. I have to remind myself of the good things in life. So I share this blessing with you today: A young girl (about 14) and her parents walk into the store today. They walk over and look at the dslr cameras...I can see the excitement in her eyes...excitement that resembles a dream coming true. Her parents look at the price of the cameras and see the price of the lenses. Realizing that they cost more than expected she says All I need to work for the school paper is one of these...I head out for a break. Before walking out I saw the joy in her face and the parents looked sad...knowing this was an expensive investment they proceed to leave the store. Noticing this...I walk over as they left while on my break and ask if they found everything they needed. They reply yes...but those dslrs are gonna cost more than we have and she love taking pictures...she wants to be on the school newspaper. The look of a shattered dream was apparent on her face. My heart felt heavy knowing the feeling of a dream so close only to watch it slip away. So... I pass them my number and ask how much they have for one... saying maybe I can help. The mother asks how...I told them to meet me on my lunch at burger king. Long story short...I parted with my camera today...to reignite a dream...the hope and the wish of a child passionate and determined. I was able to make a childs dream come true...and I am grateful for the ability to do so. #NegativesTurnedPositive
