Today my son turns 18!!!! Im a lil confused on my emotions. Lol. He has been one of the best blessings in my life. Ill never forget this eventful day 18yrs ago. It all started about 5am, I had horrible back pains. So I got in the shower to ease them off. I had been having braxton hicks contractions since I was around 6months pregnant and my due date was not until the 25th. We had family down to visit as we were living in N.C. at the time. We all got ready and went to the flea markets in Greensboro and the entire time I was having contractions. This elderly man came up to me oddly and said honey your having this baby today i was like no way hes not due yet. I was in disbelief because my first son was over a month padt due. We went back home and I ensured the family that today was not the day SO THEY LEFT BACK TO VA. I tried laying down to ease of the pain still not realizing I was in actual labor. His daddy went to shoot pool with his buddies Scott Mullins-InMemory and Denny Wright just a mile or so from home. Around 7pm my dear friend Susanne Vogler called me and during our chat she was like JODI YOU ARE IN LABOR! ME still in denial was like no way Im always past the due date. So she called his daddy and told him to go get me NOW! Sp here he arrives buddies in tow. We stopped to pick up Angela Holsapple. My ob/gyn was in UNC and that was an hour away. Well they all refusef to take me there since my contractions were 2 minutes apart. So we went to the local hospital ARMC. Its approximately 8pm by now. Scott and Denny decide they are going to The Boston Market for food and left me Angela And Keith at the hospital. Upon being checked out I was already at 6cm. The nurses were giving me down the road for waiting so long. They took me straight to delivery. Angela stayed with us and before Scott and Denny got back to the hospital Sam was born at 8:32pm. They were in shock. Susanne came and here we all were together revealing in this beautiful miracle. His father and stayed up all night passing him to one another in awe of this beautiful baby boy we had created. It seems like only yesterday. BOY TIME TRULY DOES FLY WHEN YOUR HAVING FUN! So I want to take this moment to let my son know how proud I am of him and that I am So very BLESSED God chose me to be his mother. Happy Birthday Samuel Keith Baker. You are one of my greatest accomplishments!! You have made me so proud and happy to have you as my son.
