Today on the way home, Gail and i drove past an accident. It didnt look bad, a Ford F-150 had a big dent in the hood. As we drew closer - it was on a six lane highway and traffic was at a stand still, was the body of a young blond woman, she was half covered in a white sheet. I couldnt see her face, but her hair was thick and she was slender - the state troopers were standing on one side and it was pretty easy to see she was hit by the truck and killed and dragged. I am going to bed thinking of this poor girl, alone and half covered on the side of the road, her shoes off and scattered away from her. The troopers had their back to her talking - I wished theyd been bent over her grieving her loss - I felt such a sorrow. I stayed up and watched the news, not one word about this girl, nothing about the accident at all. And it almost hurts, like she wasnt important - like those troopers with their back to her - probably as hurt and too sadden to look upon her. I was praying for her mom - all she was doing was trying to cross the street and she got hit and if only there was a rewind button and she could have stayed on the side of the road. Gail was as affected as I was. I wish thered been something on the news tonight.
